It's such a romantic tradition that seems to be lost in the past, and so many of my favorite characters from literature and history lived in grand estates with equally grand titles. Maxim had Manderley, Scarlett had Tara, Jefferson had Monticello.
So when I dream of my future home I imagine giving it a name that suits its individuality and presence. It won't be a big house but it will have a warmth and dignity where friends always feel welcome and say in passing, "Oh, we're headed to....tonight".
