Where The Wild Things Are

One of my favorite childhood books coming to the big screen. It looks so dreamy.

Le Quattro Stagioni

Thunderstorms, those heralds of Spring, roar, casting their dark mantle over heaven,
Then they die away to silence, and the birds take up their charming songs once more.- unknown

I have been celebrating Spring by listening to one of my favorite concertos by Vivaldi, La Primavera, over and over again. Makes me long for the leaves to come back.

Marie Antoinette Heels

Let me Start by saying I loved Sofia Coppola's Marie Antoinette. I can't decide which scenes I enjoyed more, the ones involving pastries or those involving shoes. Anywho... Christian Louboutin created these limited edition heels as an homage to the last queen of France herself and while the $6,000 price tage is questionable, what else is questionable is whether or not you like them? Honestly, I sort of love them. I think they are so fun to look at and as soon as I saw them my mind was all aflutter about with what would I wear them. I'm thinking little shorts.

Also, enjoy this.

Give My Gun Away When It's Loaded

I wrote a few days ago about seeing Lisa Hannigan live and while her performance was pure genius and I'm so proud that her solo career is taking off, I can't help but feel sad that she and Damien are no longer a duo. It's so rare that two people can create the same musical chemistry that they did.
How lovely is this video?

Eat Cake.

I am a big fan of cakespy.com. If you know me at all, you know I love cupcakes and anything that has to do with them which these folks clearly understand. But sometimes they write about different sweet treats- like pie. I hope this brightens your day the way it has brightened mine.

I Wanna be Sedated

Oh Monday. How appropriate for you to be rainy and cold.
I think I could sleep through the entire winter.

My Heart Swoons

Last night I saw the lovely Lisa Hannigan, after whose lyrics this blog is named and for whom I lost many hours of sleep, listening to her CD on repeat. She charmed the crowd and sang beautifully. She was divine and I can say very little else. I feel lucky to have seen her.

Check out this video of Lisa at an older live performance.
She makes the cutest faces when she sings.

I am throwing a pity party for myself indoors today because I can't so much as walk on this first of spring-like days due to a bum foot. boo hoo.

You are at the Beginning.

Glamour Magazine is celebrating its 70th anniversary this month and their website is featuring young stars as American Icons. Here are a few of my favorites.

Paula Patton as Billie Holiday

Odette Yustman, Spencer Grammer, Rumer Willis as The Women of Woodstock

I'm curious as to how they chose the "Icons". Carrie Bradshaw made the list? what?

In Like a Lion.

There was a big snowstorm here last night, the first of March, and all work and school is canceled.
As much as I am anticipating Spring, I love having an excuse to stay in my pajamas all day and watch cartoons.

I leave you with this darling picture. Enjoy the snow before it turns to mud and slush.

This is Matthew who likes snowstorms and being five.

Not the Worst Way to Save a Soul

I love Dans Paris because it is filled with the sweetest and wisest quotes, such as:

"I think we grossly underestimate our sorrows, in general. We always die of sadness, actually".

or

"We can pray to be loved by only one person. It's not the worst way to save a soul".

And also a very attractive cast.
