Hanging Rock
I will almost always vote for a book over a movie, but in the case of Picnic at Hanging Rock's 1975 film adaptation, my heart is glad it didn't miss out on the gothic dreaminess that accompanied each scene. The high starched collars and white eyelet, the giggling college girls, the eerie quietness, and the rural Australian landscape.

Rachel Antonoff
Rachel Antonoff's Fall 2010 Collection is everything I want my wardrobe to be. Really, everything. Clean lines and neutral colors, sheer fabric and feminine ruffles, sexy and sophisticated: A reflection of Grace Kelly in Rear Window. Excessive fashion has it's place in the world but not my closet.
My heart races when I see these pictures.

That black and white dress is a dream. I would wear it as my wedding dress, I love it so much.

No, never could I leave you
I've been feeling dreamy and romantic lately, and this song always makes my knees buckle. If you ever want to make me cry, play me this.
I love the aesthetic quality of this movie- medievel times meets the 1960s- strikes all the right nerves with me.

Elsewhere
Recently, I've woken up with a great desire to kick my town in the shins and flee. I love my house and the people surrounding me but I've got restless leg syndrome of a sort-perhaps it's more akin to restless soul syndrome. It hurts my wanderlustful heart to see these pictures of Iceland:

The other worldly Northern lights

Numerous waterfalls

To take a stroll through town...

Or seek some solitude in this incredible, secluded house.
I die!

Are you in love yet?
Am I out of line to say this is the best fashion shoot Vogue has ever done? The high fashion magazine brings to life a classic fairytale in which Model Natalie Vodianova poses as Lewis Carroll's beloved literary icon, Alice, alongside designers dressed as Wonderland's whacky inhabitants. You couldn't ask for a more beautiful collision of fashion and whimsy.

One Day Late
I will sing a song to you
and you will shake the ground for me
and the birds and bees and old fruit trees
will spit out songs like gushing streams
then Jesus will come through the ground so dirty
with worms in his hair and a hand so sturdy
to call us his magic we call him worthy
Jesus came up through the ground so dirty.
"Jesus" by Page France.
Easter is one of those holidays that gets better as you get older. It seems to me there are so few obligations and expectations attached to Easter and so there is something wonderfully quiet about it. Whether you're religious or not, it signifies the real start of spring, marked by symbols of rebirth and new beginnings, longer days and pastel dresses, resolutions and sunny dispositions. Also, the story of Easter is so loaded with hope and belief how could you help but feel smitten. Oh, and did I mention there's candy? Lots and lots of candy...
