In my humble opinion, Martha Stewart's life is a dream. She is talented at everything, she's beautiful, smart, witty, and has worked hard to build an empire. Past be damned, I really admire the woman.
I especially admire her chow chow!
eeps, chow toes!

the perfect marriage
When I was 14 I fell madly in love with author Patricia Mckillip. Her fantasy prose touched me in a way that Tolkien or Rowling never could. I have since read everything she's written and my already colorful imagination will never be the same.
While reading my first Mckillip book (Alphabet of Thorne) I was lucky enough to stumble upon the band Eisley whose fanciful melodies were the perfect marriage to the rich worlds introduced to me by Mckillip. With my overly sentimental heart I always look back on that time as something really extraordinary and harmonious to which I like to return now and then for peace of mind.
Eisley - Marvelous Things
Oh what marvelous things but they are giving me the creeps.

I'm backwards.
I'm trying to leave the past but these people are making it so darn hard.

Forget.
Forget what you know about romance. Seriously.
I've been living in a world separate from the present one forever but it hasn't been detrimental to me until recently. I read too many books. I identify with the wrong characters. I won't get into details but I'm in love and it isn't what I thought it would be. Love is taking me for walks to strengthen my foot, and love is quizzing him for his physiology exam, backscratches, tickle fights, and late night rides home from the train station...which, as it turns out, is way better than anything Emily Bronte ever taught me.

Pretty Sister
Dear world,
I know you love Zoey Deschanel, what with her quirky style and charming bangs, but how, pray tell, have you overlooked her supremely gorgeous sister, Emily? Now, I know (seriously I know) it can be a slippery slope to compare sisters, but in this case my heart is leaning toward one side...
so lovely.

Speaking of Fashion
This past weekend I watched The September Issue, a documentary on the stunning, infamous, Vogue editor Anna Wintour. It's really crazy the influence that fashion has in the world and the number of people, including myself, who subscribe to the madness. It's a scary industry.
However, the clothes were enough to make me cry and I fell instantly in love with creative director, Grace Coddington.
She says, "I think I got left behind somewhere because I'm still a romantic"

Rachel Antonoff
Rachel Antonoff's Fall 2010 Collection is everything I want my wardrobe to be. Really, everything. Clean lines and neutral colors, sheer fabric and feminine ruffles, sexy and sophisticated: A reflection of Grace Kelly in Rear Window. Excessive fashion has it's place in the world but not my closet.
My heart races when I see these pictures.
That black and white dress is a dream. I would wear it as my wedding dress, I love it so much.
